Annual Special Events
Festival of Trees - An annual Central Oregon Holiday tradition is a great way to usher in and celebrate the Holiday season by sharing the gifts of beauty and joy with family and friends. The Festival is held the first Saturday of December.
The free daytime event features more the elaborately decorated trees for viewing, buy-it-now items, raffles, local entertainers, children’s events, visits with Santa and much more. The Gala Event & Auction, a ticketed event, brings the community together for an elegant evening of cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, the live auction of trees and entertainment. Together, the Festival of Trees draws more than 2,500 people from throughout Central Oregon and beyond.
Camp Sunrise is founded on the understanding that every child deserves the opportunity to grieve in a safe, supportive, and understanding environment. With loving support, children grieving a death can share their experience with acceptance as they move through the healing process. Support for parents and caregivers will further enhance the grieving child's journey to health. Camp Sunrise is for children age 7-14 in Central Oregon who have experienced the recent death of a loved one. The camp is open to 40 children each year who reside in Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook Counties and is offered at no charge. The annual three-day, two-night camp experience will be held the third weekend of June.
Light Up a Life is an evening of remembrance. The evening features the ceremonial candle lighting and the reading of names of loved ones who have passed.
The annual Teddy Bear Tea is a festive occasion for parents, grandparents and children in Central Oregon on the second Sunday in December.
